Wesam Alalem, Libyan web developer, currently working at Libyan Spider Network, a private Libyan company specialized in web services, like web hosting, web design , and registering domain names.

My first web development experience was ASP, then in LTT (Libya’s main ISP), I switched to PHP. I worked on many projects with PHP-MySQL approach since 2004.

Also, worked as Linux admin since the same time: Installing, configuring, and maintaining servers for some ISP network services. Like Apache, MySQL, Bind, and Sendmail.

As one of the Libyan registry team when I was working in LTT, we developed the registration system for .ly ccTLD. And attended two ICANN meetings in Morocco and Portugal.

Recently, and after joining Libyan Spider Network, my work got more focused on Web Development, and we work on many projects now, and we plan for new projects in the future. It is very exciting to be here, with open minded people, there is a lot to discover and do.
